Wesley Snipes Tax Case Appeal Rejected

Wesley Snipes Tax Case Appeal Rejected – Wesley Snipes will be heading to jail after losing his appeal of a three-year prison sentence for failure to file income tax returns for three years, from 1999 to 2001. A federal court of appeals upheld the conviction in an Ocala, Florida court. He is facing three misdemeanors that came from felony tax charges.
He was first sentenced in April 2008. Prosecutors said that Snipes had earned nearly $40 million since 1999, but had not paid taxes on any of his earnings. The actor appealed and did not deny the charges, but said that the sentence was unreasonable.
He is most known for starring in the “Blade” films, and most recently appeared in “Brooklyn’s Finest.” The group of three judges did not say when Snipes was supposed to report to prison, or where he was supposed to report. A number of celebrities have jumped to his aid in the case, and have spoken out about the length of his sentence.
Snipes, 47, was born in Orlando, Florida in 1962, but grew up in Bronx, New york City. Growing up, he discovered a love for film, and started to train as an actor. His acting prowess, along with his martial arts abilities, made him a prime candidate for action roles.
