Serena Williams Fined For U.S. Open Outburst – Serena Williams will think twice before she starts insulting anyone on the tennis court.
Williams has been hit by a record-setting $82,500 fine for insulting a judge during the U.S. Open last summer.
Grand Slam administrator Bill Babcock said that the champion is getting punished for violating a “major offense” rule and for “aggravated behavior” during her semifinal loss to Kim Clijsters.Any more bad behavior from Serena could land her a $175,000 fine and barred from the U.S. Open.
