Michael Vick Nike Deal

Believe it or not, sneaker company Nike has re-signed Michael Vick to a new endorsement deal. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has only recently completed a jail sentence for animal cruelty.
Nike canned Vick about four years ago when he got busted for dogfighting charges.
Vick did 21 months in the slammer for the crimes but he came back into the NFL even stronger.
Vick had even filed for bankruptcy while he was in prison but upon release he then took up his pro ball career and has admitted to his wrongdoing and has reformed.
For Nike to take a chance and pick up Vick again is something that won’t sit too well with his critics. Then Vick went on to win the Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year in 2009. He then signed on with the Eagles in March of 2011 and is now not only the team’s franchise player but has led the team to a 10-6 record.
This is a sign that forgiving and taking responsibility can be achieved. Sure Vick was engaged in some horrific behavior but he lost almost 2 years of his life. He then came back stronger and is now being welcomed back into the fold due to his abilities as a super athlete which is what he is.
