George Lopez Ann Lopez Divorce – After 17 years of marriage, George Lopez and his wife, Ann, have called it quits. The couple made this announcement on Monday. The only child of this couple is a 15 year old daughter.

In their 17 years of marriage, comedian and talk show host Lopez suffered from a kidney disease. Ann, in support of her husband, donated her kidney in a successful operation in 2005. Following this situation, the couple founded the Lopez Foundation, with the aim of helping out children and adults who suffer from kidney diseases, as well as education and raising awareness of this problem.

In a statement released, the couple have announced the split is mutual and will not affect their charity.

“The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement. They remain dedicated parents and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation,” said the statement.

Lopez started out as a stand up comedian, before turning to radio and television. He starred in the show “The George Lopez Show” from 2002 to 2007. At 49 years of age, he now hosts a talk show, “Lopez Tonight” on cable channel TBS in the United States.

I figured something was going on when he continually made fat jokes and jabs on is late night show. I kept thinking how disrespectful that was because his wife is heavy. I love the George Lopez show but I watched him on stand up and was totally turned off. He is so full of himself and places a label on everyone. I hope he sees what he is doing to his image before its to late.
